JUNIOR SAILING PROGRAM

LITTLE SKIPPERS. TWO WEEK HALF DAY PROGRAM. 9 AM TO NOON.
This is an Optimist dinghy sailing program for the little guys both beginners or returning sailors. Beginners will learn to rig, capsizes, and sail their 8-foot Optimist sailing dinghy. Returning sailors can sail higher performance Open Bic boats. Bring a life jacket (vest type). This is a rain or shine program.
This is a rain or shine program. Must commit to a two-week program. A swim test wearing a life jacket is required.

TWO WEEK FULL DAY PROGRAM
9 TO 4 PM
This program is available for youths ages 8 through 16, for both beginner and experienced sailors. Students are grouped by age and/or experience. Small children learn to sail Optimist dinghies advancing to higher performance Open Bic boats. Older children sail Open Bic, Zuma, Pixel, and Sonar boats. Dinghy sailing takes place in the protected area of the bay around five islands park. Instructors coach students form a motorboat and float. Bring your lunch and a vest type life jacket. A swim test wearing a life jacket is required.
By the second week, our junior sailors will be racing their boats and performing other boat handling skills.
Other activities include rules of racing, plotting courses, reading charts, and anchoring.

JUNIOR SAILING INSTRUCTORS
Our instructors have at least five years of sailing experience, first aid and CPR trained. They have experience in sailing boats up to 24 feet and can operate powerboats as well. Creating a fun and safe program is their goal everyday.

COMMADORE'S CUP
In our final week of the Junior Sailing program we host a racing event for the kid. The kids race Optimists, Bic and Pixel one-design boats. We have an excellent viewing area for the parents and lunch to follow.
