GETTING HERE IS EASY

Launches operate seven days a week to the island Memorial Day through Labor day weekend. Weekend service pre and post holidays. Boats depart from A dock on weekends and B dock on week days.

KAYAK

Bring your kayak or paddleboard and explore the Long Island Sound and neighboring islands

Echo Bay Yacht Club is a peaceful and tranquil retreat located within the Five Islands Park area.  There are seven islands to explore within four miles of the Club. There is easy access to the water to launch your boat. The Club offers rack and locker rentals for your kayak and equipment.

 

MOORING AREA

Echo Bay provides a safe anchorage for moored boats up to 50 feet in the bay. Permits are required from the New Rochelle Harbormaster and include marina dinghy racks. 

Moorings can be purchased or rented through Port Sailing.

 

SAILING LESSONS

Operated by Port Sailing School

Echo Bay Yacht Club offers sailing programs through Port Sailing School. The sailing school provides the instructors and the boats for all the sailing programs, in addition, they operate the Launch service to the island on weekdays from New Rochelle Marina

ADULT LESSONS

ASA 101 Learn to sail classes

The sailing school starts its beginner 3-day classes in May and goes through September. Beginners learn to sail a 23 foot Sonar sailboat. A new class begins each weekend at 9:30 am, The class meets Saturday, Sunday and the following Saturday, 9:30 to 5:00 pm. Learn more here about enrollment dates offered by Port Sailing School.

JUNIOR SAILING

Open to Ages 9 and Up

The children can sign up for a two-week half-day (9 am-noon) program or full-day (9 am- 4 pm). Returning sailors may enroll for multiple week sessions. Parents can drop off their children at the marina at 8:30 am. Boats depart to the island at 9:30 am returning back at 3:45. 
Parents are welcome to join the kids for lunch at noon on the second Wednesday of each session.

ADULT DINGHY PROGRAM

Learn to Sail Small Boats

The sailing school offers Saturday morning lessons from 9 am to noon for members. You'll learn to sail Laser or Zuma 14 foot boats in the bay just behind the club. These are fun and easy boats to sail, but prepare to get wet,  as you will learn to capsize and right your boat the first day. Must be a swimmer. 
Experienced members can reserve a boat after completing a checkout sail. Maximum capacity 2 adults.
